Simile
The comparison is done directly
Eg: He is as brave as a lion

Metaphor
The comparison is done indirectly and in implied form. The word that is used to indicate something different from its literal meaning.

Adjective
What is Adjective??
Adjective is a word that describes something about a noun, whether a thing or a person.

Simple Past Tense
The past simple verb tense is used when:
-The action happened in the past.
-The action/event is completed /finished at the time of speaking.
-The time or/and place is stated or understood.
Note: In English, following phrases are often used with the Past Simple Tense to define time:
-yesterday
-last year
-last night
-two years
-last month
-ago
-many years ago
-a long time ago

ADVERB
•An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb
Adverbs answer the following questions:
Where? How often? or how long?
When? To What extent?
How? or how much?
Examples:
1.1. The sprinter ran swiftly. [The adverb swiftly modifies the verb ran and hells how.]
2.2. I read the funny pages early on Sunday morning. [The adverb early modifies the adjective small and tells to what extent.]
3. Jolene was comforting a very small child. [The adverb very modifies the adjective small and tells to what extent.]
4. The fire blazed too wildly for anyone to enter. [The adverb too modifies the adverb wildly and tells to what extent. The adverb wildly modifies the verb modifies the verb blazed and tells how.]
5. Dad will sometimes quote from Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s speech. [The adverb sometimes modifies the verb will quote and tells how often.]
6. Put the apples there, and we will eat them later. [The adverb there modifies the verb put and tells where. The adverb later modifies the verb will eat and tells when.]

The word not is nearly always used as an adverb modifying a verb. When not is part of a contraction, as in hadn’t, aren’t, and didn’t, the –n’t is still an adverb and is not part of the verb.

= Collective nouns is a group of things, people or animals, that is thought as one entity.
For example: 1) An army of ants
2) A company of soldiers

1) Read the Collective Nouns lists. (There's no short-cut for this, dearies)
2) Do visual association inside your mind.
3) Try to utilize the collective nouns in your daily speech. This could help you to practice the
knowledge that you've learned.
So, the key points are:
Read ----> Visualize -----> Use
The visual association that I meant is like the examples below.
1) A chain of islands
A of
2)A party of friends
A of
Easy, isn't it? By doing so, you could apply more effective way of memorization :)
